Tea at the Residence

An Invitation to Tea at the Residence by Mrs. Paxman April 19th 2012

The British Ladies were given a wonderful afternoon tea by the kind invitation of Ségolène Paxman, wife of the British Ambassador, who is Honorary President of the British Ladies Association. We all enjoyed being there, the company was excellent and there were many British Ladies present who are often not able to get to our monthly meetings because of mobility problems. It was very good to see each other again and it was a happy event, with almost 40 members there.

It was a deliciously typical tea with wafer-thin sandwiches (including cucumber!), followed by a large variety of cakes and tarts as well as miniture trifles, all of which were made from Ségoléne’s own recipies as she told us. Of course, there were cups and cups of tea available.

Shiela Stuart, our President, presented Ségolène with one of Yvonne St. Clair’s prints of the Plaza de Oriente in gratitude of her very kind invitation.
