Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month from September to June in the Church Hall, St. George’s Church, Núñez de Balboa 43. Coffee and biscuits are served from 10:30 until the meeting begins at 11:00am; the duration is approximately 2 hours and includes a speaker. We have talks on a wide variety of interesting topics. Please note that the entrance to the Church Hall is through the door to the patio and not through the Church.
Our meetings give us all a chance to catch up with old friends or to meet new ones. We begin our year with a general knowledge quiz – not too hard and a bit of fun for all – and we end it in June with a lunch to which members of the charities we support are also invited. In between these times we have talks on such varied topics as the World Bank, Bull-fighting(this was given by an English lady who used to be a bull-fighter), olive oil tasting, life aboard a submarine, and other interesting talks. In December we have a joint meeting with the St. George’s Guild to sing Christmas carols, eat mince pies and drink warming mulled wine prepared by our President, Sheila.
If you would like to give a talk on a topic that interests you, or you know someone who would like to do so, then please contact Barbara Banks on 91 324 9372 or Jenny Jones on 91 803 5423, send us an e-mail or send us the completed contact form.
